I review this against a sliding-scale formula to allow as many people as possible access to therapy, with a limitation on the number of reduced fee clients. I also do 2 or 3 session consultations for a fixed fee of £180, to advise about options, therapy or otherwise, for people who like to start with more general advice about how to deal with the issues they have. About me

As a relational psychotherapist and counsellor, registered with the UKCP, I specialise in relationship, sexual and gender issues, anxiety in the widest sense, trauma and PTSD, dissociation, difficult emotions e.g. anger and shame, mind-body / somatic, cultural, "psychiatric" and ageing issues. I am kink- and poly-aware. My main consulting room is in London NW3 (Hendon), on the Northern Line, with an additional practice in EC3 near Liverpool Street station. I also work via the Internet (Skype or other). I work in English, Dutch and German.

My approach is relational and integrative. Every client I work with is unique, and I adapt my way of working to them, their issues and what they want to work on. I work short-term as well as long-term. If my client agrees, I work in a focused and time-conscious way. For more information see my website www.henrystrick.com

I had a first career for several decades as an international businessman, living in seven countries. I am fluent in English, Dutch and German. I have children, stepchildren and grandchildren. I have trained for longer periods at Regents College, the Bowlby Centre, and with Babette Rothschild. I have participated in a large number of conferences and workshops to expand my background and the range of my skills.

I have done 8 years of placements in the NHS, in a psychiatric hospital and in a high-security prison. I participate in psychotherapist groups focused on kink and polyamory. My general life experience, and a period of prison work, mean I feel entirely ok with people with a criminal background or conviction, or with accusations of "abnormal", "deviant" or "perverse" behaviour.
