Hi I am Katrina Hadland. Â I run Time to Talk Counselling service. I have been working as a psychotherapist for 11years, following a change of career where I previously worked in education with vulnerable young people and children/ young adults with learning disabilities and struggling mental health. I have a special interest in dissociative disorders: derealisation, depersonalisation, functional neurological disorders (non epileptic seizures), DID, addictions and creating a safe space for people wanting to explore psychosexual topics.
Depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges are common. As a qualified counsellor, I can help you explore your thoughts and feelings, leading to greater self-understanding and effective solutions for life changes or coping strategies. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I provide a non-judgmental and knowledgeable space for discussing LGBTQIA+ issues. I also specialize in gender identity, supporting clients through the complexities of their feelings and experiences. My goal is to help you navigate overwhelming emotions and empower you to live authentically. I possess extensive experience in the field of identity, with a strong dedication to supporting transgender,
I primarily work with intersectional identities and the difficulties that can come with these. My main areas of interest and experience are queer identities, gender (including cis, trans, non-binary, and those with DSD/intersex conditions), polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships, families with mixed ethnic and/or religious backgrounds, growing up as a third culture child, Kink/BDSM, disability/illness (including hidden), surviving domestic abuse, and difficult parented relationships. I also have a particular interest in the intersection of faith and sexuality/gender (especially Islam) and a lot of experience in supporting parents and partners of trans+ people through their unique and specific journeys.
I see therapy as an opportunity to explore, to challenge, and to develop new ways of being and relating. I engage with my clients in a real, authentic way, and invite them to do the same with me. I’m an experienced UKCP accredited Psychotherapist with over 14 years experience working in a range of mental health services. I’ve supported many people in leading richer and more rewarding lives. I work in a way that is open, honest, supportive and allows for lightness and challenge. Or maybe you feel overwhelmed by the array of identities, and your own unknowing. Maybe you yearn for change, but it eludes you.Â
