Dr. Kathy Mackenzie-White: Sex and Relationship Therapist
About the Therapist
I have been a fully qualified and registered Clinical Psychologist since 2012 and have loved offering therapy ever since, baring witness to the profound impact it can have. I have over a decade of experience working in the NHS, including as the Psychology Head of London Specialist Psychosexual and Sexual Health and HIV Psychology Teams. I’m passionate about providing queer-affirmative therapy — supporting people of all sexualities and genders to access ethical, effective, and respectful psychological care for whatever is most important to them and their lives right now. My aim is to offer a space where people feel fully seen, understood, and enabled to move towards their preferred lives, in spite of what they have lived through.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I’ve been trained broadly and am qualified to work with a wide range of emotional, physical health and mental health challenges including anxieties, self-esteem, shame and relationship tensions. This enables me to see the 'bigger picture' of who I am working with, even if we choose to focus specifically on their sexual lives and overcoming tensions within sex. I often offer Compassion-Focused Therapy, Systemic Therapy, and Sex Therapy, alongside drawing on other evidence-informed psychological approaches that best fit who I am working with. I collaborate with clients about where my expertise can most make a meaningful difference, and I’m open about recommending alternatives when another approach may be a better fit. My NHS background has given me extensive experience in focused, short-term therapy, while private practice allows me to work more flexibly — offering medium- and longer-term support that aligns with each person’s goals, history, context and hopes.
I am practiced at working online, in person or a mixture to fit you.
