PINK THERAPY DIRECTORY MEMBERSHIP TERMS & CONDITIONS

The Directory is open to qualified therapists who take a non-pathologising stance to gender, sex and relationship diversities. We consider that stigma, prejudice and minority stress create toxic conditions for GSRD people. Practitioners listed in this Directory embrace difference and work affirmatively to challenge cisgenderism, mono-normative, heteronormative, transphobic and sex-negative paradigms to help GSRD people build resilience and recover from trauma.

If you are a counsellor or psychotherapist you need to be a member of BACP, UKCP, NCS or similar, or a Counselling or Clinical Psychologist registered by the BPS (all in the UK) and thereby be obliged to practice under a rigorous code of ethics and subject to that organisation’s complaints procedure.

You need to be trained to at least Diploma level in Counselling. We do not accept therapy qualifications gained exclusively by Distance Learning, and only accept formal and explicit training in counselling, psychotherapy or post graduate studies in psychology.  Teacher training, social work (in the UK), nursing qualification or theology degree is not an adequate training in and of itself and so we will only accept formal therapy qualifications at Diploma level or above in your profile.

Therapists are responsible for ensuring that qualifications, accreditations and insurance are current and valid.

If you are subject to a professional complaints investigation, please contact Dominic Davies (Director of Pink Therapy) to discuss what happens to your membership until the relevant professional body has resolved the matter.
