About the therapist:

Lois Peachey (she/they). Integrative counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor currently based in East Anglia. I initially trained in Rogerian person-centred counselling and then later undertook an integrative training.

In the last 15 years I have become very interested in body focussed trauma work and have trained in Somatic Experiencing and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

I identify as queer and 75% of my therapy clients and supervisees are from the LGBTQ++ community. Since initially qualifying over 20 years ago, I have seen a lot of change in the therapy world in respect of working with difference and understanding the impact of oppression. However, there is still much work to be done. I am proud to be a long-term member of Pink Therapy and am a regular attendee of the Annual Conference and training events.

I am always cuious about the many and varied things that influence how we develop to be who we are.

Experience and approach:

I have over 20 years experience of a client work, primarily in private practice but also providing short-term work in the NHS and Employee Assistant Programmes (EAPs). I work with individuals from 18 years of age upwards. My initial training was Rogerian (Carl Rogers) Person Centred and then later undertook a further training in integrative counselling. Since qualifying, I undertake regular Continuing Professional Development in a range of areas but in the last 15 years mainly in the areas of trauma and GSRD.

I have also been a supervsior of counsellors, psychotherapists and other professionals since 2016.
