Maya Price
About the Therapist
I’m an integrative therapist (qualified in 2019) with over 20 years of experience supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals, young people, and neurodiverse communities. As a proud trans woman and activist, I have a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ people. My approach is client-led, and together, we’ll create a space where you feel seen, heard, and valued.
In 2011, I co-founded Proud2Be, a Devon-based LGBTQIA+ organisation, alongside my twin sibling Max. Together, we’ve built a thriving organisation that supports hundreds of LGBTQIA+ young people and adults annually despite facing challenges such as the global pandemic and cost-of-living crisis. I have extensively worked with LGBTQIA+ people from all walks of life since 2012.
I earned my Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling in 2019 after completing a three-year programme at Devon Counselling College. I have also undertaken comprehensive training in safeguarding, sexual health, mental health, anti-racism practice, and LGBTQIA+ awareness.
This diverse background allows me to bring a holistic and well-informed perspective to my therapy work.

I provide affirming therapy exclusively for LGBTQIA+ individuals 13+.
My specialisms include:
- Supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals navigating identity and self-discovery
- Helping with anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma
- Working with self-esteem and self-worth
- Offering a safe, affirming space to explore your unique experiences
My therapeutic practice is rooted in person-centred therapy, meaning our sessions are guided by what feels most helpful to you. I use a variety of approaches, including:
Transactional Analysis: Exploring the dynamics between different parts of your personality and how they shape your relationships and decisions.
Inner Child Therapy: Connecting with and healing parts of yourself that may feel wounded or abandoned.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Identifying thought and behaviour patterns that contribute to challenges like anxiety or depression and working to shift them.
Talk Therapy: Simply sharing your experiences, concerns, and feelings in a safe, non-judgmental space.
Our work will focus on trust, safety, and personal growth. Whether you’re processing grief, healing from trauma, or seeking clarity in your journey, I’m here to walk alongside you at your own pace.
I work primarily online, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for clients worldwide. I also have a limited number of in-person sessions available in Central Taunton, Somerset for those who prefer face-to-face therapy.

My standard rate is £60 per 1-hour session. I offer a concessionary rate for students, people on benefits, those unemployed, and refugees, with one reduced-rate slot available at a time. If this slot is already filled, I can add you to a waitlist for future availability. I also provide a discount for clients who book a package of 10 sessions.
Additionally, I offer a free 30-minute, no-pressure online consultation. This gives us a chance to get to know each other and see if we’re a good fit before committing to ongoing sessions. It's important that you feel comfortable and confident in your choice of therapist.
