Lauren Turner Therapy (Online)
About the Therapist
I’m Lauren, a Humanistic Psychotherapist and Counsellor (MSc, PGDip, BACP registered) offering online therapy to clients across the UK, Europe, and beyond while based in Spain. My practice is rooted in creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment where you can explore challenges, gain clarity, and move toward living more authentically.
I specialize in working with gender, sexuality, and relationship diversity, providing a space where LGBT+ and trans clients feel seen, affirmed, and respected. My integrative approach means I draw from a range of therapeutic styles to tailor our work to your unique needs, exploring how past experiences shape the present and supporting meaningful growth.
Before starting my private practice in 2020, I worked with the UK mental health charity Mind, where I gained valuable experience supporting individuals with a variety of concerns. I also bring insights from my previous career in law, which informs my understanding of themes such as equality, power, and difference.
Through extensive training and a warm, relational approach, I aim to help you navigate life’s challenges and build resilience, self-understanding, and a stronger connection with yourself and others. I will work collaboratively with you to create a space where you feel empowered to explore, reflect, and move forward.

My Experience and Approach
I am trained in Humanistic Psychotherapy, a robust and comprehensive five-year programme with Metanoia Institute that included Gestalt Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, and Transactional Analysis. This training deepened not only my academic knowledge but also my personal development, allowing me to bring empathy, self-awareness, and professionalism to my work.
In my practice, I draw on these foundational approaches while integrating Polyvagal Theory, existential perspectives, and feminist thinking. This enables me to tailor our work uniquely to your needs, ensuring therapy aligns with who you are and what you seek to explore. I also work with an awareness of societal norms and prejudices, recognizing how these can shape and sometimes constrain us. Together, we can explore the ways you’ve adapted to life’s challenges, developing a compassionate understanding of these patterns and finding new possibilities for connection and growth.
I believe that making sense of what’s happening in your life, understanding why, and processing the associated emotions can create space for conscious, empowering choices. Whether it’s addressing fixed patterns that block connection or exploring the impact of past experiences, I am here to support you in navigating change and living more authentically.
I am a trans-affirative therapist with experience supporting clients at various stages of transition, including both social and medical aspects. I’ve also undertaken additional training in working with gender and sexuality diversity, providing a safe, affirming space for LGBTQ+ clients.
Before establishing my private practice, I volunteered with the mental health charity Mind, where I supported clients with various mental health concerns, further broadening my experience and commitment to providing compassionate and effective therapy.
