Nicola Hambley
About the Therapist
The most important thing for me as a therapist is that my client(s) feel safe and understand that I am not there to place judgement, just simply to hear, support and be with my client(s) where they are. With couples we look into the relationship, where they learned to relate and how that is impacting on today. I have tools to help with reconnection and communication and welcome all types of relationships. I have lived and professional experience supporting the LGBTQ+ community. Â

I have had (and continue to attend) further training in the exploration of gender identity and continue to expand my knowledge in this area. I also have training and lived experience of supporting the LGBTQ+ community in the relationship with themselves and also with others. I currently work in private practice from my own, homely room in central Surbiton alongside working with Relate Mid and East Surrey. I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) and abide by their code of ethics. After completing my degree in Integrative Relational Counselling, which integrates Humanistic, Psychodynamic and Transpersonal theoretical approaches, I went on to work with Relate and complete a diploma in Relational Therapy which allows me to work with couples using Systemic and Psychodynamic theories which provides a base for the support I can offer.
