Nick Glenister
About the Therapist
I am passionate about providing a safe space for LGBTQIA+ clients and offering an anti-oppressive practice. My way of working is typically non-directive, offering you a confidential safe space that is non-judgemental allowing you to work through whatever is troubling you. With the person-centred approach, the individual has the ability to work towards resolving their own issues when given the support of genuine acceptance and empathic understanding which comes from the working relationship between client and counsellor. I have worked as a volunteer counsellor with students at the University of East Anglia Student Support Services offering brief person-centred therapy of up to six sessions and have also worked as an Associate tutor within the University of East Anglia School of Health Sciences teaching students and training staff on gender diversity awareness. This work is now part of the course teaching on a number of the health sciences programmes currently running.

I am a person-centred counsellor and gained an MA in counselling from UEA in 2018 and I have been in private practice since the beginning of 2019. My way of working is typically non-directive, offering you a confidential safe space that is non-judgemental allowing you to work through whatever is troubling you. With the person-centred approach, the counsellor is not considered to be the expert who can “fix” you but rather it is the individual that has the ability to work towards resolving their own issues when given the support of genuine acceptance and empathic understanding which comes from the working relationship between client and counsellor.
