Blythe Hunt
About the Therapist
Queer people deserve queer therapists. Being LGBTQIA+ is an incredible gift, but it can also be immensely challenging. I know the power that therapy has to bring individual change. That can translate into the wellbeing of our community.
Hello and welcome. I’m Blythe, recently qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor currently registered with the UKCP and an individual member of the BACP. I am white, upper middle class, queer, trans, neurodivergent and non-disabled. My pronouns are they/them/theirs.
I qualified as a counsellor in April 2024 and have over 300 hours clinical experience.
I am a member of the BACP, UKCP & UKATA and adhere to their codes of ethics and professional standards.

I can also provide my certificate of counselling qualification from my training institute on request.Â

I studied Transactional Analysis (TA) psychotherapy but my own practice is integrative.Â
TA was developed in the 1960s as an accessible form of psychoanalysis. TA emphasises autonomy, spontaneity and intimacy through the promotion of an understanding of self in relationship to others.Â
I use trauma informed theory and methodology including Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) regulation and polyvagal theory in order to support the stabilisation of the physical symptoms of post-traumatic stress.Â
I like to work relationally, which means looking at what the relationship between myself and the people I work with in therapy can tell us about patterns of relating and relationships outside of therapy.Â
I am passionate about psychoeducation in order to demystify the process of psychotherapy and deconstruct the unhelpful and unnecessary power dynamics which often inform relationships in psychotherapy.Â
As a neurodivergent therapist understanding and destigmatising my own and other's neurodivergence is central to my practice.Â
I have experience working with:Â
• AnxietyÂ
• DepressionÂ
• Destructive angerÂ
• Low self-esteemÂ
