About the Therapist
I meet my clients where they are and as they are - I want to understand your experience, so I won’t make judgements or assumptions. This means that our sessions can be about anything that is on your mind that week – good or bad. I firmly believe that there is a place for humour, laughter and joy in therapy because you are more than the worst experiences you’ve had.
I have been a therapist for an NHS service and a charity which I still volunteer at. Prior to retraining as a therapist I worked for a charity and before that I had many years working in the music, events and hospitality sectors.

I’m a person-centred counsellor and this type of therapy chimes with who I am. Person-centred therapy is built on empathy and genuine human connection and it’s respectful of all the things that make you, you.
I have experience working with clients at all stages of their adult lives. I’ve worked with a number of issues such as grief, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, relationship issues, caring responsibilities, work-related stress, post-traumatic stress, neurodiversity, infertility and other health issues.
Person-centred therapy is guided by you - you can use the sessions to explore whatever you like at your own pace. I won’t pry or push you into talking about something you don’t want to talk about. I don’t set homework and I don’t have a set of tools or techniques.
Instead, I’ll listen to you and together we build an understanding of what life is like for you, why you react to things in certain ways, why you feel particular emotions in particular circumstances, and what (if anything) you would like to change.

I have a one-off flat rate of £25 for the first session.
In the first session you will be able to tell me a bit about what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from the process. You’ll also be able to ask me any questions you have. This might involve talking about any needs or requirements you may have for the sessions.
At the end of the first session we’ll know whether we are a good fit. There is no pressure to commit to future sessions.
I offer concessionary rates (starting at £25) on a sliding scale to students, unemployed or underemployed people, or for those struggling to keep up with the cost of living.
