David Mather - Lighthouse Psychotherapy

I've been supporting members of the LGBTQI+ community for many years through work with charities and local organisations and now in my role as a therapist in private practice.  I understand the additional challenges posed to the community which can add to the pressure on our mental health and well being. I'm described as a very warm and personable man who is strong but also gentle.  I'm an integrative therapist which means that I can work in a way that suits the needs of an individual client and can draw on many different approaches to tailor-make a service that suits your own needs. My main modality is a Psychodynamic approach based around Transactional Analysis which I use to inform me on exactly how a client is struggling with.  This approach can be used alongside many others to help alleviate client suffering and the symptoms of emotional distress. I can also work creatively at times when clients may be stuck by using creative media which I have with me in my therapy room.
