About the Therapist
“It takes one to stand in the dark alone, it takes two to let the light shine through” (Marvin Gaye & Kim Weston: 1966).
Do these lines resonate with you? Sometimes, finding that second person, that listens to you without introjecting their own experiences and what you “should” be doing to solve them, can leave you feeling unheard. Counselling is a space that places you at the heart of the process, where you can explore without judgement.
For some the past has been a journey of loss, grief, abandonment, and a lack of choice in differing who we are and how we want to identify ourselves, in gender, culture, and sexuality. I believe that walking along side you, in whatever life stage you are transitioning through, with empathy and honesty, will enable you to trust yourself and let go of conditional beliefs, and find a sense of your own pathway. Together, we can look at your choices and options, because counselling is about you deciding what’s important for yourself.
As a proud queer trans woman, I am committed to supporting the LGBTQ+ community and beyond, offering therapy that fosters safety, acceptance, and understanding. Research highlights that feeling safe and not judged with a counsellor can be a vital catalyst for courage and personal growth. Drawing from my lived experiences, I aim to provide a warm, non-judgmental space to explore the unique challenges you face and delve into the root of what’s happening for you. My approach is person centred, is grounded in empathy, respect for your individuality, with a dedication to helping trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse people of all ethnicities and sexual orientations.
As the song says, we need to share our problems to find our solutions, and counselling can help to illuminate the path to understanding and healing.
