My focus in the counselling is to put the relationship with my clients – and the valuing of the experience of the client – at the heart of our work together.
The Psychodynamic approach looks at current patterns of relating – including avoidance of relating or maladaptive relating – and connects them to their possible origin in family dynamics, past experiences and the client’s early childhood.
When we begin to work together, there will be an assessment process. This is for me to ascertain how best to support you and to identify your reasons for seeking counselling. It will also help us make sure it is suitable for us to work together.
Once you have made contact, we will typically have a brief phone call, text or email conversation, in order to clarify what you are looking for, and to arrange an initial session.
