Georgina Gardner Stockley
About the Therapist
My work integrates person-centred psychotherapy with body-aware and trauma-informed practice. I work with individuals, couples and athletes experiencing anxiety, burnout, complex trauma, emotional overwhelm, bereavement, identity difficulties and relational challenges.
I practice as a person-centred counsellor. Our sessions can take the form of straightforward talking or we can use non-verbal mediums, such as drawing or painting, to explore your experience. I work in a trauma informed way and have experience working with traumatic bereavement.
I am currently relocating to Edinburgh and will be offering in-person psychotherapy there from August 2026, alongside online psychotherapy across the UK.
I am currently accepting enquiries for online sessions and future Edinburgh-based work.
My sessions are 50 minutes long.

I practice as a Person-Centred counsellor because as a client this is the only modality I am comfortable with. I have training in Person Centred Expressive Arts Therapy and enjoy offering alternative methods of expression such as painting, drawing and movement alongside talking. I am a qualified yoga instructor and currently training as a Somatic Experiencing® and a NARM Practitioner, therefore I am experienced in the provision and use of various somatic techniques to help down-regulate the nervous system.
I have worked with clients struggling with a diverse range of issues such as psychosis, addiction, marital breakdown, sexuality, neurodivergence, depression, anxiety and sexual abuse. I welcome whatever a client needs to bring to a session and understand that a person's psyche is not categorisable, nor properly represented by a collection of labels.
Since qualification I have worked on an Employee Assistance Programme providing in the moment support on a counselling helpline. Following that I worked as a counsellor at a Hospice.

Before you commit to a session we will arrange a free twenty minute phone conversation in which we can discuss what you are looking for, and you can ask any questions you may have and get a sense of whether you would like to work with me.
