About the Therapist
As your counsellor I hope that we can work together to co-create a safe, non-judgemental and compassionate space from where we can explore areas of your life that are causing distress or discomfort, past and/or present.
My interest and passion in Autism and ADHD stems from my own lived experiences. These have informed my counselling framework in myriad ways and supporting others in a similar position now forms the majority of my practice. I support and welcome self-diagnosis, and tend towards identity first language (Autistic person rather than person with autism) unless you prefer otherwise.
Whether you are at the beginning of your explorations into potential Neurodivergence and curious about traits that you may identify with, participating in the screening process or managing the impact of a diagnosis and where to go from there, I am able to use my experience and training to support you.The majority of my experience lies with Autism and ADHD, alongside a solid foundation of understanding of other neurodivergences including but not limited to dyspraxia, Tourette syndrome and dyslexia. I believe that being neurodivergent is unique to each individual and is therefore an innately personal experience. I hold the view that being neurodivergent holds many strengths as well as challenges, and endeavour to support you from a holistic perspective that enables us to hold all of these potential paradoxes. I see neurodivergence as difference, not something that needs to be ‘fixed’ or ‘cured’. This is the basis of my Neurodivergent affirmative approach to counselling.

I currently work solely in private practice, offering counselling, supervision and occasional training / consultancy. Previously I have worked in a number of different settings, including Leeds Conservatoire, York Women's Counselling and The University of Sheffield.

I offer an introductory telephone appointment of up to 20 minutes - this is free of charge.
This call allows you the time and space to ask any questions you may have and consider whether I could be the right counsellor for you, as well as providing the opportunity for me to learn from from you about your support needs.
From there, my full fee is £50 per 50 minute counselling session. A limited number of concession rates are available; please ask me for details.
