Cassim Kaweesa
About the Therapist
“You are not broken. You’re just carrying stories no one ever gave you the language for.”
My name is Cassim, and I’m not just a therapist—I’m someone who has lived through the things we’re told to hide.
I come from a Black, African, Muslim background. I grew up believing there was no space to be soft, to ask for help, or to admit I was struggling. I didn’t even realise I was bisexual until my twenties. By then, I had already survived extreme bullying, alcohol abuse, suicidal thoughts, and years of feeling like I didn’t belong anywhere. I know what it’s like to live in silence, to battle shame, to feel torn between faith, family, culture, and identity.
That’s why I do this work.
I specialise in supporting men, boys, and LGBTQ+ clients—particularly those from ethnic, religious, or culturally complex backgrounds who often feel unseen, judged, or misunderstood. If you’re queer, gay, bi, trans or questioning—and you’re trying to navigate who you are within a world that doesn’t always make space for you, I offer a confidential, non-judgmental place to unpack all of it.
Many of my clients come to me feeling like:
- They’re carrying double or triple lives
- They’re afraid of rejection from family, community, or faith
- They’re stuck in cycles of guilt, shame, or self-sabotage
- They don’t know how to express their anger, softness, grief, or love
- They’re burnt out from always being strong, silent, or invisible
I get it. And I also know it doesn’t have to stay that way.

My approach is integrative and grounded. That means we’ll use whatever works, psychotherapy, storytelling, humour, challenge, silence, or spirituality to help you reconnect with your own voice and your own truth. Whether you’re dealing with coming out, trauma, internalised homophobia, masculinity, heartbreak, religious conflict, or feeling like you’re always “too much” or “not enough”—you’re not alone anymore. I am very realistic and down to earth, but also tell it as it is.
This space is for you.
For your rage. Your sadness. Your hope.
For the parts of you that don’t fit neat boxes.
For the parts of you that want to live—not just survive.
Reach out. You don’t have to have the right words—just the willingness to begin.
