Kate Wilkinson - Transform Counselling UK
About the Therapist
I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor providing support with issues such as, but not limited to: LGTBQIA+, neurodiversity, peri/menopause symptoms, domestic abuse, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, past trauma, loss, stress, depression and anxiety.
My career history has been dominated by support roles; with special needs children in various settings, education, adults living independently. Most recently I held a role within community mental health, where I was working alongside the neighbourhood mental health team within the NHS, supporting adults with enduring mental health issues.
I am currently gaining further understanding on the experience of trans, non-binary and intersex people who will experience menopause, because I feel this topic is not addressed enough and menopause is an area of interest for me.

As a Person-Centred Counsellor, I work in collaboration with clients to unpick the challenges faced day-to-day. We will work on building your self-worth and resilience, providing you with the emotional toolkit to manage those difficult times. My approach to counselling is specific to you and what you need in this moment, using attachment theory to inform my practice. I will welcome you just as you are and offer an empathetic, safe, non-judgmental space to speak openly without worry.
Whilst my qualification is in person-centred counselling, I do have an understanding of CBT and Psychodynamic so may integrate these and some psycho-education into my practice, if I feel it is beneficial to my client.
