Emma Hinkson Therapy
About the Therapist
I am a psychotherapist specialising issues around sex and sexuality, with a focus on our embodied experience. This area is also the focus of my doctoral research. I blend spiritual, mental, and physical dimensions to guide vulva owners back to themselves in a safe, supportive, and empowering way. I bring over a decade of experience in healthcare, having supported individuals with chronic conditions and those receiving palliative care. This background informs my compassionate, whole person approach to healing.
In addition, I have spent years exploring the therapeutic potential of psychedelics and am passionate about contributing to a future where clients can safely and legally access these powerful tools for transformation and growth. As a woman of mixed heritage, I carry lived insight into navigating complex identities. Growing up in the UK, I experienced the richness and tensions of straddling multiple worlds, which sparked a lifelong curiosity for travel and understanding diverse ways of being. I bring that same curiosity and openness into the therapy space, walking alongside clients as they make sense of their own place in the world. I am also a parent, and while that role does not define me, it has deeply shaped me. I welcome all experiences of parenting; its joys, struggles, griefs, and absences into the therapeutic journey, holding space for whatever may arise.

My approach helps you to explore themes such as meaning, identity, freedom and connection, particularly as they relate to your sexual and relational life. Alongside traditional talk therapy, I use guided tools to bring in an embodied focus, encouraging you to listen to your body, understand your emotional responses, and reconnect with pleasure and presence.
I also welcome spirituality into the work, in whatever way that is meaningful for you; be it through ritual, intuition, a sense of something greater or personal reflection. My sessions are a space where all parts of you are invited in.
I am a queer-affirming, sex-positive and kink-aware therapist, and I work with people across all genders, sexualities, and relationship styles.
