Craig Kerrecoe
About the Therapist
I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and bring lived-experience alongside professional training to my work. This informs a practice grounded in affirmation, respect, and awareness of minority stress, shame, and the impact of discrimination.
I am also neurodivergent and am particularly attuned to the ways neurodivergent people can be misunderstood, mislabelled, or over-pathologised in therapy. My approach prioritises validation, collaboration, and respect for your lived experience.
I am committed to ethical, reflective practice and work within the professional standards and code of ethics of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I engage in regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.

I work integratively, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and adapt the work to the individual rather than applying a single model. My approach is relational, collaborative, and trauma-informed.
My practice is explicitly anti-pathologising. I do not view gender diversity, sexual diversity, neurodivergence, or difference itself as a disorder to be treated. Instead, therapy focuses on understanding your experiences within their personal, relational, and social contexts, including the impact of minority stress, stigma, and systemic barriers.
I support LGBTQIA+ clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, shame, relationship difficulties, attachment patterns, and the effects of rejection, invisibility, or invalidation. I also work with clients exploring gender, sexuality, relationship diversity, and identity at different stages of life.
Alongside LGBTQIA+ work, I have particular experience and specialist training in working with neurodivergent adults (including Autism and ADHD), and with addiction and compulsive behaviours. My practice is neurodivergence-affirming and non-pathologising.

My session fee is currently £75. The standard psychotherapy/counselling session lasts 50 minutes and repeats weekly at the same time every week. However, I can offer extended sessions of 75 or 100 minutes, or multiple sessions per week, if you feel that you would like to do more intensive work at any point in the therapeutic process.
I also offer a free 20 minute introductory consultation to see if you’d like to work with me.
