Nix Somers - We Evolve Counselling
About the Therapist
Hello, I’m an integrative counsellor with a person-centred approach at the heart of my work. This means I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you, offering support, understanding, and a safe space to explore whatever you’re going through.
I provide a calm and relaxed environment where you can feel listened to without judgement. Life can feel overwhelming at times — whether it’s anxiety, low mood, loss, relationship struggles, or just feeling stuck — and counselling offers a chance to slow down, reflect, and find new ways forward.
Alongside my counselling practice, I have many years of experience supporting LGBTQIA people. I also volunteer as a counsellor with Youthline, where I’ve had the privilege of working with a range of clients facing different challenges.
I believe therapy is not about “fixing” you, but about supporting your journey of growth and self-discovery. Together, we can explore your experiences at your pace, helping you build resilience and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

My approach to counselling is integrative, which means I adapt how I work to suit you as an individual rather than taking a “one size fits all” method. At the heart of my practice is person-centred therapy, which is all about creating a safe, relaxed, and non-judgemental space where you can feel truly heard and supported.
I believe the relationship between counsellor and client is central to the healing process. By building trust and working together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace.
Depending on what you need, I may also bring in elements from other approaches such as:
-
CBT – to notice patterns of thought and behaviour and explore ways to shift them.
-
Psychodynamic insights – to understand how past experiences may be shaping your present.
-
Solution-focused techniques – to help you recognise your strengths and work towards your goals.
Above all, my aim is to walk alongside you, offering empathy, support, and a calm space where you can explore challenges and discover new ways forward.
