About the Therapist
Sessions with me involve a lot of exploration of who you are and what is important to you. Our relationship will be a key part of this. Therapy with me may differ from other experiences of therapy you have had; I don’t work in a short term way that you may have had through work or the NHS. We work together to get to your core and understand what’s really going on before trying to implement a fix- this takes time but it is my belief that this is the meaningful work that sticks. Therapy is about meaningful change and that takes depth and time; a good analogy is exercise.Â
I work in a sex positive, kink positive and sex worker positive manner. I teach on the UKs first LGBT+ Affirmative therapy course and formerly founded and ran an LGBT+ organization.
My theoretical approach is a mixture of Existential and Relational approaches to therapy, although solution-focused elements can be brought in if it seems appropriate.
It can be hard to know where to turn when we're struggling. I offer an inviting space that is warm yet challenging to help you to examine what's important and make decisions about what the future should be. The world we live in can throw up a lot of questions about identity, purpose and meaning. Together we can work out what you need, and help you get it.

I provide a welcoming space for creative exploration of who you are, what is going on for you and what changes we want to make.Â
You decide the content that you bring and what we work with. They're your sessions. I will bring in suggestions at times or suggest alternative ways of working, but the first job is for them to fit with you.
Whilst a lot of what we do may look like traditional "talking therapy" there is space for art, drama, play and other ways of getting to what matters to you and who you are.Â
Whilst my work is non-pathologising, many labels and diagnoses are important to individuals and can impact that way that you interact with the world (for example personality disorders, neurodiversity) and if they are important to you then we will work with them. My approach gets tailored to individual needs- the space needs to work for you and be safe for you.Â
It's important to me that therapy fits the person. You may think therapy isn't a space for you, that your background or how you live might mean your therapist couldn't possibly understand you. I value a collaborative approach where we talk regularly about what's going on in the room, about us and our differences, and about whether we're going where you want us to go. It's a collaboration.

I take payments by Bank Transfer or Cash, typically. We can discuss other options.
Sessions are typically at the rate of £70 per session.
I occasionally have low cost spaces available according to need. If this is something you require then get in touch. If I cannot accommodate a low cost space right now I operate a waiting list.
