Jamie Speake
About the Therapist
Hi, I'm Jamie (he/him) and I'm a qualified integrative counsellor (MBACP). I know how important it is to feel safe and I aim to create a space where you can speak freely and openly without judgement. I’m an LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapist and I am deeply committed to creating an inclusive space for everyone — attentive to how culture, race, gender, sexuality, and life experiences shape who we are.
I’m drawn to this work because I know how powerful it can be to feel truly seen and understood.
Many of us carry untold stories, and sharing them can be an act of courage and relief. My role is to walk alongside you, at your pace, without judgement.
Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you — it’s about making space for every part of you, even the parts you’ve hidden away.

I believe that finding a counsellor that feels like the right fit is the most important part in your search. However, if you’re interested in my training and qualifications, I hold:
- A Level 6 Diploma in Integrative Counselling (awarded with Distinction) and trained within the NHS Kent and Medway Social Care Partnership Trust
- Registration of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working in line with their Ethical Framework.
- A First-Class degree in Biological Sciences, giving me insight into how our physical and emotional worlds are connected.
- An MA in Education and Leadership, which informs my curiosity around how we learn, grow, and make meaning — especially through relationship
- Online and Telephone Counselling Certification
I offer a calm, supportive presence — so you can come just as you are.
People I work with often describe me as kind, empathetic, grounded, and non-judgemental.
Because everyone is different, I draw from a range of approaches:
-
Humanistic – supporting your growth, authenticity, and potential
-
Psychodynamic – exploring unconscious patterns and how past experiences influence the present
-
Existential – reflecting on meaning, choice, and direction
-
Relational – valuing our connection
-
Cognitive – understanding your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
