Denise L Novello
About the Therapist
My name is Denise L. Novello, and I am a Swiss-recognised psychologist (PsyCo, Master level) and a member of the Swiss Federation of Psychologists (FSP). I have more than ten years of clinical experience in mental health, psychosocial support and addiction prevention, in both private practice and community settings.
As a trans woman with eight years of lived transition experience, I bring together professional training and personal insight. I understand how challenging it can be to navigate identity, belonging and self-acceptance when these processes feel in conflict with one’s cultural or social environment. These experiences inspire my work and allow me to offer a grounded, compassionate and non-judgemental therapeutic space.
I offer sessions in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian, enabling clients to express themselves in the language that feels most natural and emotionally accessible.

My approach is humanistic, relational and culturally sensitive, grounded in Person-Centred Psychology. I work with presence, empathy and a deep respect for each client’s pace and autonomy, trusting in their inner resources and capacity for self-understanding. I believe that each person is the expert on their own life, and my role is to support clients in exploring who they are, what they feel and how they want to shape their future. Together, we work towards greater clarity, emotional wellbeing and authenticity.
I have experience supporting clients with identity exploration, emotional distress, trauma, life transitions, cultural conflict, migration, addiction-related challenges and relationship concerns. I welcome LGBTQIA+ clients as well as anyone seeking an accepting and reflective environment to better understand themselves.
Therapy with me is a collaborative process grounded in trust, openness and deep respect for personal autonomy. My aim is to help clients make sense of their experiences, reconnect with their inner resources and build a life that feels authentic and meaningful.
