Trans & Gender Diversity Therapy – Denise L. Novello
About the Therapist
My name is Denise L. Novello, and I am a Swiss-recognised psychologist (PsyCo, Master level) and member of the Swiss Federation of Psychologists (FSP). I have more than ten years of clinical experience in mental health, psychosocial support and addiction prevention, in both private practice and community settings.
As a trans woman and multilingual therapist, I bring a unique combination of professional training and lived experience to my work. I offer a warm, grounded and LGBTQIA+-affirming therapeutic space where clients can explore questions of identity, sexuality, gender, relationships, cultural belonging and emotional wellbeing. I understand how complex it can feel to navigate shame, internalised stigma, family or cultural expectations, trauma and life transitions when one’s identity has not always been welcomed or affirmed.
My practice is rooted in empathy, presence and deep respect for personal autonomy.
I support clients in reconnecting with their inner resources, making sense of their experiences and shaping a life that feels more authentic, meaningful and self-directed.
I work in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian, and welcome clients from diverse cultural backgrounds, including expats, migrants, LGBTQIA+ people, questioning individuals and those seeking a non-judgemental space to better understand themselves.

My approach is humanistic, relational and grounded in Person-Centred Psychology. I work with trust, openness and attunement, supporting each client’s unique pace, emotional process and autonomy.
I have experience working with identity exploration, sexual orientation, gender diversity, shame, internalised stigma, trauma, anxiety, relationship concerns, minority stress, cultural conflict, migration and life transitions. My work is affirmative of LGBTQIA+ identities and informed by GSRD awareness.
Together, we work towards greater clarity, emotional wellbeing, authenticity and meaningful self-acceptance.
