About the Therapist
My approach is grounded in empathy, warmth, and genuine connection. When working with LGBTQI+ clients, I place particular importance on creating a space where your identity is respected, affirmed, and never questioned. My aim is to offer a calm, supportive environment where you feel seen, understood, and not alone with whatever you’re carrying.
The relationship we build together is at the heart of the work. I take time to tune in deeply so you feel truly heard and validated - not just for what you’re going through, but for who you are. I bring warmth and a real human presence, meeting you exactly where you are without judgement or assumptions about your identity, relationships, or lived experience. I stay with you even when things feel painful or confusing, and I adapt to your needs rather than expecting you to fit any particular model of how therapy “should” look.
My approach is flexible and client‑led. We go at your pace, and we focus on what feels most important to you. LGBTQI+ people often navigate unique pressures — from identity exploration and coming‑out experiences to family dynamics, discrimination, internalised shame, or the emotional impact of living in a world that doesn’t always feel safe. Everyone’s story is different, so I tailor our sessions to you as an individual. My work is informed by evidence‑based practice and NICE guidelines, but I keep things grounded, accessible, and easy to understand.
You might be dealing with anxiety, low mood, stress, burnout, relationship or intimacy difficulties, identity questions, or a general sense that something isn’t right. Whatever you’re facing, we can explore it together. Therapy can help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings, reconnect with yourself, and find ways forward that feel authentic and empowering.
If you prefer a more structured approach, we can use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to focus on a specific issue. CBT can help you understand unhelpful patterns and make practical, meaningful changes in your day‑to‑day life, while still holding space for the wider context of your identity and experiences.
You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what you want from therapy. In our first session, we’ll talk about what’s been happening for you and decide together what approach might help. My role is to support you — not to expect you to have everything figured out.
Life can be demanding, especially when you’re navigating identity, relationships, or environments that don’t always feel affirming. Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what matters to you. It’s a place where you don’t have to hold everything together.
If you’re thinking about starting therapy, reaching out is a brave and meaningful step. If you’d like to talk things through or ask any questions, feel free to get in touch. I’m here to help you explore whether this feels like the right fit.
