About the Therapist
As mentioned before, I work within the integrative model of psychotherapy, which means when you study, you learn a wide variety of therapeutic approaches rather than just one. This appealed to me as why would everyone all benefit from the same type of therapy, when we're all coming with different experiences and styles. I began studying in psychotherapy in 2020 and recently completed a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy, which was on the psychological impact of intensive care survivors, of which I am one. I live with chronic illness and disability, so have a deep understanding of the challenges that come with health difficulties. I am a registered member of the BACP, and work within their ethical guidelines at all times - even if we aren't a fit, I would encourage all potential clients to make sure their therapist is registered with an ethical body, as currently (terrifyingly) in the UK, anyone can set themselves up as a practitioner. YIKES.Â

In terms of experience, I've completed over 600 clinical hours since I began my practice. This has been across my own private practice; with a low-cost therapy practice and previously I worked as a volunteer therapist for a women's domestic violence charity. The majority of my clients have been from the queer community, and I also work with clients in non-monogamous/open relationships, the kink scene and chemsex. I'm trained in being trauma informed (different to just saying you're trauma informed!), which is crucial when working alongside survivors of violence and abuse. I'm gentle in approach but also know when its time to test the boundaries for clients to grow.Â
