Alannah Lewis
About the Therapist
Hi there! My name is Alannah and I am a therapist currently working online, based in Fife and Edinburgh in Scotland. Being trans myself, I am familiar with many of the struggles of navigating one's own identity and the inner conflicts that can arise when trying to better find and understand oneself. I have worked with many clients over my years of practice, dealing with issues surrounding LGBTQIA+ identities and working with neurodiversity, anxiety and depression, grief and loss and more.
Therapy can be scary and daunting to face. I should know, I have done it myself. Having to be open and vulnerable about issues in your life that you may not even fully understand. It is tough and frightening. I try to offer my clients a space where they can feel free to express themselves, their inner thoughts and feelings, or their struggle to recognise those feelings. I offer no judgement or criticism, just my attention and empathy and the knowledge that I will do my best to understand you and hopefully help you better understand yourself in the process.

As far as my experience goes, I have been practicing counselling and psychotherapy for three years now, managing to attain my official postgraduate qualification in 2024. My approaches are Person Centred and Psychodynamic, leaning more so towards being person centred, looking to find a more integrative approach. I believe that while we all have internally the resources to overcome the struggles we are faced with when provided the right environment, it is important to give time and space to our past which has helped form and develop the person we have become and how that past may affect the change we wish to see in ourselves today.

My fees are £60 per 50 minute session. I do offer a reduced rate of £50 per 50 minute session for students and those living on benefits/financially struggling, which can be discussed during a consultation session. Fees may be subject to review on an annual basis.
If this sounds reasonable, I also offer a free 10-15 minute video consultation to give you the chance to speak with me and give me an overview of what you are looking to work on and give you a better sense of what it might be like to work with me too.
