Steph Willows
About the Therapist
I offer both long and short-term support, for adults and young people online via video conferencing with appointments available Monday- Wednesday afternoons and evenings. I also have some face-to face appointments available on Thursday afternoon and evening. Please reach out to book an initial session or to arrange a complimentary 15-minute chat to see if we’re a good fit.
Should we decide to work together, our first session will be about getting to know one another, to see how we might best work together. I like to get an overview of how you are currently managing in day-to-day life and to see which areas might need a little extra attention/support. The first session is also for me to answer any questions or worries you might have about the therapeutic process, so that I can hopefully put your mind at rest. I do tend to take notes in our first session so it may feel a little formal, but subsequent sessions do not generally involve me sitting in front of you with a clipboard!

With over 10 years of experience supporting a diverse range of clients, I know that therapy should be as unique as your own identity. While my foundation is person-centred, I work integrative way—drawing on different therapeutic tools to ensure our work truly reflects who you are. Whether we are navigating LGBTQ+ -specific challenges or general life hurdles, my approach is built around your individual needs, not a pre-set mould.
My approach to therapy is tailored to meet your needs and sessions are always led by you. Some people like to decide in advance how they might like to use a session, while others prefer to see what comes up for them on the day. Sometimes we will decide how to best make use of a session together, if that's what you would prefer. Some people like to keep notes of how their time between sessions has been and use these as a prompt, some people like to have homework or exercises to do between sessions which we can then discuss together in the next session. I have a flexible approach to how I work so that we can get the best fit for you and your needs, whatever they may be right now and as they change over time.
