Adam Rowley
About the Therapist
I offer weekly therapy sessions in person at private consulting rooms in central London, and online where in-person attendance is not possible. Sessions are conducted in complete confidence, in line with UKCP ethical standards.
I am a gay therapist and my practice is fully LGBTQIA+ affirming. I understand from the inside what it is to navigate questions of identity, sexuality, and belonging, and I bring that understanding into the room without agenda or assumption.
I hold a Clinical Diploma from the Metanoia Institute, London, one of the UK's leading psychotherapy training institutions, accredited by the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). My work is existential in orientation and grounded in relational practice, with particular attention to feeling, thought, the body, and what passes between us in the room.
Gestalt psychotherapy works with the whole person. Rather than focusing on symptoms or diagnosis alone, it attends to how you experience yourself and the world around you, and what becomes possible when that experience is met with careful, sustained attention.

People come with a wide range of concerns: anxiety, depression, and low mood; burnout and difficulties at work; relational struggles; grief, loss, and bereavement; trauma; questions of identity, sexuality, and self-understanding; a sense of feeling stuck, uncertain, or at a significant crossroads in life. I also work with people who are in serious difficulty, including those experiencing despair or suicidal thoughts.
I work with LGBTQIA+ people across the full spectrum of identity and experience, including those navigating coming out at any stage of life, questions of gender, relationship structures, and the particular pressures that come with living in a world that is not always built for us. I also offer a thoughtful space to explore diagnoses received from psychiatrists or other clinicians, understanding more fully what lies beneath the label and finding a more compassionate relationship with that experience.
I work with a minimum of 12 sessions to ensure the work has sufficient depth and ethical containment. Beyond that, some people choose to work for a defined period; others find value in longer-term, open-ended work.
I am also a BAMBA Listed Mindfulness Teacher (No. 08859170) and bring mindfulness practice into the work where relevant.
