Izzi Norrington
About the Therapist
I am a BACP-registered therapist, offering online counselling for adults across the UK and in-person sessions in London. I usually work in an open-ended way, allowing time for deeper exploration without the pressure to have everything figured out.
I specialise in supporting clients through life experiences that lead them to wonder 'Who am I and what do I need now that...?'. These moments of questioning may stem from LGBTQIA+ experiences, neurodiversity, grief, relationship difficulties or life transitions. I offer a space among the uncertainty to slow down and make sense of what is happening. This can feel especially important when things feel confusing, heavy or difficult to put into words.
Alongside my clinical training and experience, I hold a Master's Degree in Philosophy and am a registered yoga teacher. I draw on these elements to support you in finding a sense of safety from which questions of identity, meaning and belonging can be explored with curiosity and care.

Approach
Rather than viewing distress as a set of ‘symptoms’, I understand it to be shaped through our relationships with ourselves, others and the wider social contexts we live within. Together, we can explore the ways you have learned to cope with your experiences, including those that may have once been necessary but no longer feel helpful.
Experience
I have worked in mental health and related fields since 2019, with experience as a therapist in the NHS and an LGBTQIA+ specialist charity.
