Adam Barrett - Wiltshire
About the Therapist
I’m Adam, a therapist with nearly 20 years of experience helping clients address challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, ADHD, and difficulties in relationships, sex, and intimacy. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirmative, offering a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore your unique experiences, whether they involve identity, relationships, or personal growth.
I provide online therapy via secure video platforms like Zoom, making therapy accessible and effective from wherever you are. Together, we’ll create a therapeutic space tailored to your needs, helping you uncover insights, process past experiences, and develop practical tools for meaningful change. Our work is adaptable, and I encourage clients to commit to a pace that feels right for them—whether that’s a few weeks of focused sessions or a longer-term exploration.
Before we begin, we’ll schedule a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs and goals and ensure we’re a good fit. From there, we’ll embark on a collaborative journey to help you overcome challenges, strengthen your relationships, and live more authentically.

I bring nearly 20 years of professional experience across diverse settings, including Nightingale Hospital, where I worked with clients facing complex mental health needs, and the London Fire Brigade, where I supported frontline staff managing high-pressure roles. I’ve also worked in the prison system, helping individuals navigate the intersection of trauma, behaviour, and rehabilitation. These roles have given me a broad perspective and deep empathy for the resilience required to overcome life’s challenges.
My approach is integrative and tailored. I combine Internal Family Systems (IFS), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, EMDR, and Gestalt Therapy with advanced training in Mindfulness, Somatic Trauma Therapy, and Psychosexual Therapy. This blend allows me to address emotional and physical well-being dimensions, fostering healing and personal growth. Whether you’re processing unresolved trauma, managing ADHD, or working through relational or intimacy issues, I adapt the work to meet your specific goals.
I am particularly experienced in supporting clients exploring gender and sexual diversity, non-traditional relationships, and diverse sexual expressions, offering an inclusive and affirming space. My approach is present-centred, fostering curiosity and awareness of emotions, behaviours, and relational dynamics as they arise. Together, we’ll work to uncover the root causes of your struggles, build resilience, and create meaningful changes that last.
