About the Therapist
Hello, I’m Adam.
Choosing a therapist is not only a deeply personal decision, it's also a courageous one. Having been a therapy client for almost a decade, I vividly remember the anxiety before my first session - and I'll never forget the therapists who profoundly influenced my life.
You can book a free consultation with me here.
My personal journey with therapy began in 2015 during a particularly difficult year that changed my life’s direction. The support I received from my own therapist during this time was pivotal, helping me address deep-seated issues related to my sexuality, my relationships with drugs and alcohol, and the unhealthy patterns in my personal relationships. This experience led me to train as a therapist, a qualification I completed in 2019.
In our community, many of us grapple with feelings of shame and low self-esteem, which can lead to various harmful behaviours, including substance abuse, perfectionism, and self-harm. I specialise in person-centred therapy and emphasise the importance of providing a supportive and non-judgemental space for my clients where these things can be explored with compassion.
Motivated by a desire to understand the impact of my sexuality and early life experiences on my current self, I have extensively studied trauma and adopted a trauma-informed approach to therapy. My goal is to facilitate healing and self-awareness, empowering others to navigate their paths towards recovery and personal growth.

While I initially trained in person-centred therapy, my practice has since expanded. Many of us have had to disconnect from our bodies to cope with life's challenges. Healing from trauma involves a safe reconnection to the body because, ultimately, life is fully experienced through our senses.
With this understanding, sessions with my clients often involve discussing their current experiences while gently starting to cultivate awareness of what is happening in their bodies. If this concept seems unfamiliar, I completely understand—I too was once sceptical about the significance of bodily awareness before my own therapeutic journey. Reconnecting with my body has been a gradual yet profoundly fulfilling process.
