Aidan Kelly (Hackney, London)
About the Therapist
I am a Lead Clinician at the Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health, one of the UK's largest gender dysphoria services. I manage and supervise staff as well as contribute to training, teaching and research in the field gender dysphoria regionally, nationally and internationally.
I also worked for almost 5 years at the Tavistock Centre’s Gender Identity Development Service, supervising and managing more junior clinical staff alongside managing my own busy caseload. I am committed to supporting the needs of transgender, non-binary and gender questioning individuals.
I am a Clinical Psychologist by training, with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sydney (2012-15). I have worked in other NHS roles, in both inpatient and community settings, with adults and children with a range of mental health difficulties. This includes working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, working with young people who had become socially isolated and were school refusing and with young people who attended specialist provision educational settings. These young people tended to have complex needs such as significant anxiety, depression, familial or relational difficulties, social communication difficulties and histories of trauma.
