About the Therapist
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming and it's no surprise that many clients I've seen have expressed hope for a solution or quick fix. Though understandable, the unpredictability of life means that challenges are inevitable, and although I can't promise a quick fix, I can offer you the opportunity to unpack and explore these difficulties and help to better equip you to manage these challenges.
My integrative approach is underpinned by the concept that “relationship is the first condition of being human” (Petruska Clarkson), and whether it's with ourselves, with others, or the world we live in, we are always in some form of relationship. With this in mind, I consider the therapeutic relationship we build as a means to collaboratively explore what difficulties you may be struggling with.
Therapy can help to highlight and create new understandings of how historical relationships and events may impact current behavioural patterns, relational dynamics, and relationship with ourselves. The therapeutic relationship we build can be seen as means to facilitate the navigation of this process and hopefully, towards positive change.

I offer one-to-one, 50-minute sessions of brief/time-limited, or open-ended therapy to adults. Sessions can take place face-to-face or online via Zoom.
No two relationships are the same and this is reflected in my integrative therapeutic approach which draws from humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural schools of thought. I have worked with people from various backgrounds and carry a personal awareness of how our differences may impact our experience, perspective of the world, and relationships. I recognise that we are each unique and consider each person not in isolation but instead, within the context of their distinct lived experience.
I have worked with people whose difficulties surround sexuality, gender identity and expression, relationships, anxiety, depression, abuse, trauma, PTSD & CPTSD, discrimination, religion and spirituality, among other struggles. I have worked with charities offering brief and long-term counselling to adults and adolescents and have also provided counselling with organisations offering holistic support for trans and/or non-binary people (who may/may not also identify as LGBQ+). I've also worked with an organisation providing therapy for trans and/or non-binary of the global majority.
I offer a free, 30-minute initial consultation before beginning therapy, allowing you the space to ask any questions you may have and determine whether I might be someone you'd like to work with, without any pressure to proceed with therapy.
