I have over 8 years experience supporting adults in community and inpatient psychiatric wards, then NHS Talking Therapies and the charity Mind's counselling services, including work as an LGBTQ therapist and as a practitioner trained to work with long term health conditions and neurodiversity. I take a trauma-informed approach to therapy, so we will start by exploring what has bought you to therapy now and what problems and symptoms you are experiencing. We might explore where these issues come from in the past and consider together how you might take control to stop these problems repeating. I will be lead by you in terms of where you want to get to and what change you want to see. I often work with clients who are struggling with anxiety and depression linked to their relationships with family, friends, partners, themselves. At the start of therapy we take a fresh look at these issues and visualise what a more satisfying life with more authentic relationships would look like. Most of my clients see a gradual improvement in their symptoms, self awareness and ability to cope.
