Amy Sutton at Freedom Counselling
About the Therapist
As an integrative counsellor I draw on a range of therapeutic skills to offer empathic, non-judgmental counselling, tailored to you.
Whatever has brought you to counselling the work we do together is focused on you, your needs and your unique experiences.
I integrate different ways of working to meet the needs of the individual. And should those needs change, there is freedom to adapt.
Part of our work may involve looking at your past, to see how you have come to your present. Or, we might work together to understand and manage over-powering feelings or thoughts that are causing you distress right now. We may use creative ways to uncover what's important to you - whether words, art, imagery or objects - together finding what works for you.
Whether you're embarking on a journey of self-discovery, seeking guidance in navigating your relationships, or simply craving a space where you can find - and be yourself, I offer a safe space to explore every facet of your experience.
My specialisms include low self-esteem, domestic abuse & toxic relationships and gender, sexuality & relationship diversity.

I am passionate about helping clients build positive relationships with themselves and their identity. I work with clients who may be questioning who they are and what they value.
That can include questions related to gender, sexuality and relationship models - all that may fall outside of what society has deemed the ‘norm’.
I offer an approach that recognises that gender isn't just male or female, sexuality isn't fixed, and relationships vary widely.
In our sessions, you can enjoy open and honest conversations about topics that may have been difficult to discuss elsewhere. Whether you're exploring your gender identity, navigating your sexual orientation, or grappling with the complexities of your relationships, I help clients live authentically and confidently in a world that may not always understand or validate you. an individual, without assumptions or stereotypes.
I work from a trauma-informed perspective, which enables me to help you explore difficult aspects of experience safely, with empathy and understanding.
I am inclusive in my approach, welcoming of all gender identities, LGBTQ+, and neurodiversity (including HSP - Highly Sensitive Person). I provide a non-judgemental environment that is sexuality, kink, and non-monogamy/polyamory positive.
