About the Therapist
I trained as an Integrative Transpersonal Counsellor which means I work with a range of approaches and tailor it to suit the person I am working with. I work with the mind, heart, body and spirit.
You may be experiencing a crisis in your life and feel a loss of control. Maybe you are unhappy about your own behaviour or patterns. Perhaps you are at a crossroads and need some support. Whatever brings you, we will work at the pace and in the way that works best for you. Living in this world I am aware there is often an extra toll on queer, trans and POC minds and bodies. I am committed to being anti-racist. I am continuing to learn in all areas, and attentively growing my allyship. My clients include people from diverse cultures, genders, sexualities, religions and faiths.
Previously, I worked in the theatre and creative industries for over 25 years, as an actor, writer and director. I continue to work as a Creative Facilitator. I lead improvisation workshops at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre for women, non-binary and trans people, and LGBTQAI+ creative writing workshops. I have also worked in the justice system and NHS, including as a negotiator and in conflict resolution.
Like all BACP registered counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but I have a special interest in: Sexuality, Gender, Anger, Anxiety, Self-Esteem, Menopause, Depression, Work Related Stress, Relationships (monogamy, polyamory, and CNM), Co-dependancy, Family Issues, Abuse, Addictions, Grief.
Our sessions will start as a conversation, I will be listening, witnessing, holding the space for you. I may offer insights or challenge, and together we will explore what you bring with curiosity, honesty and compassion. I sometimes work with images, visualisations, client’s writing or dreams if that suits you. We can pay attention to body tensions or symptoms, working with what is being held and wants to be spoken or released. As a client I found working with a queer therapist meant I didn't have to explain myself, the terms I use, they understood the impact of judgements, rejections, discriminations around my sexuality, and had a warmth, familiarity and acceptance about the way I live my life. As a therapist I continue with this ethos, I am a queer/trans affirmative therapist and have been an activist for many years.

£70 per 50 min session I offer a free 15 minute introductory video call, where we can discuss what brings you to therapy now and what you hope for from our sessions. This gives us an opportunity to meet, for you to ask questions and see if we are a good fit. I see people open-ended or short term (8-12 weeks) and we can discuss this when we first meet. If you choose to start having sessions with me I will send to you a counselling agreement.
