About the Therapist
Therapy is a collaborative process. We will work together to understand your unique challenges and develop strategies to manage them. A priority is building safety between us; that includes confidentiality and boundaries and understanding your unique needs. After more than 27 years of experience and ongoing training as a therapist I can respond to you as an individual including:
- Working affirmatively with difference, marginalised and oppressed identities
- Awareness of providing safety for trauma histories
- Starting from the understanding that difficulties you are experiencing frequently arise from the society we live in as well as the experiences you have had throughout life
- Working flexibly including asking questions, suggesting helpful activities and resources
- Helping you build your inner resources
- Discovery and growth of your strengths and healthy coping mechanisms

My initial training was a combination of a relational and a person-centred model. Over the many years of my practice, I have incorporated skills and understanding from CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, TA and SFT to name a few approaches. I am very much an integrative therapist as a result of this.
I also bring my personal qualities: kindness, authenticity, warmth, humour, curiosity, creativity and patience to my work so that therapy with me can feel like a good, safe conversation with a particularly skilled, understanding and friendly professional.
