About the Therapist
I have personal experience of therapy beginning in my late teens. I know how difficult it can feel to reach out for help and support, to be vulnerable talking about what feels troubling. And I know how much things can change when we take that risk and open ourselves up to someone. I believe that counselling can help you to find a path that feels right for you and help you to feel more able to be who you are. Counselling can support you with the challenges you may face in your life, and facilitate change to your mental and physical health. I aim to offer an accepting and affirming space for us to explore what works for you. Sometimes people aren't sure whether therapy is right for them. You might be struggling with a specific issue – stress, worries about the future, problems in a relationship, experiencing discrimination, questioning an aspect of your identity, a loss or traumatic experience. Perhaps past experiences such as childhood abuse or neglect are interfering with present-day life. Or you may be experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression or finding life difficult to cope with for reasons that you're unsure of. Whatever your reasons for looking for therapy, I’m happy for you to get in touch.

My training was relationally centred and integrative. This means that I have studied different therapeutic approaches, and can work with you to tailor therapy to what you need. The relational approach is at the core of my training, which means that I aim to bring myself fully into the therapeutic relationship. Paying attention to this relationship also forms part of therapy. Issues that we have experienced in other relationships can show up within the relationship we form between us. The therapeutic relationship can provide an opportunity to experience a new way of connecting, which can be a source of healing and finding new ways of relating to others and to yourself. I believe that counselling can help you to find a path that feels right for you and help you to feel more able to be who you are. Counselling can support you with the challenges you may face in your life, and facilitate change to your mental and physical health. I aim to offer an accepting and affirming space for us to explore what works for you. I have particular interest and experience in working with LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapy, working with trauma and associated difficulties, and neurodiversity.
