Ben Morley (Stroud)
About the Therapist
I offer a calm, thoughtful and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly about parts of yourself that may feel complicated, marginalised or difficult to share elsewhere. I’m particularly interested in how shame, identity, power and belonging shape our inner worlds and relationships. Many of the people I work with appear capable and self-aware, yet feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, people-pleasing or disconnection. I aim to create a steady, collaborative relationship where you can slow down, feel understood, and develop a stronger sense of agency, boundaries and self-trust. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirmative, sex-positive and neurodiversity-affirming.

My work is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, which focuses on how early relationships, attachment and unconscious patterns influence your present feelings, sexuality and relationships. Rather than only managing symptoms, we explore the deeper roots of anxiety, self-doubt and emotional difficulties to support lasting change. I trained over four years with Gloucestershire Counselling Services (BACP-accredited) and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, working within their Ethical Framework. Alongside my counselling training, I bring previous experience as a nutritionist and lived experience of sex work, which informs my sensitivity to body image, control, boundaries, intimacy, stigma and survival strategies.
