Beth Fenton
About the Therapist
Hi! I'm Beth (she/her) and I am a person-centred counsellor based in York; I also see clients online. My practice is gender-affirming and I have vast experience working with trans clients at all parts of their journey.
I describe myself as a person-centred therapist which is part of the humanistic family of therapy.
As a person-centred practitioner, I recognise that you know what your lived experiences are, and what it is like to be you. You are the expert on yourself. My hope is that I can offer you an affirming space to be yourself while getting what you need from therapy; whether that be a safe space to talk, someone to gently challenge dysfunctional behavioural patterns, or somebody to see you and listen to the struggles you are facing.Â

I completed my Diploma in therapeutic counselling with a specialism in gender-affirming practice. I have worked with many trans clients at different stages of their transition, and I currently work one day a week for 'Generate' - a local charity for trans and non-binary folk.
