Bill Pereira Wood - Pyrus Psychotherapy
About the Therapist
I’m Bill (he/they), a cis gay male trainee therapist living in Liverpool. I was raised in Ireland and originally trained as a geologist before spending 13 years working in education in London. I am AuDHD and have lived experience of neurodiverse burnout and recovery. From my experiences as a neuro-queer person I have a keen interest in anti-oppressive practice and social justice alongside complex identity formation processes.

I’m in advanced clinical training in Integrative Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy and bring a strong neuro-affirmative focus to my work with both neurodiverse and neurotypical clients. My practice is rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and respect for each person’s lived experience, with particular interest in how impacts of oppression can shape our recovery from trauma and burnout.
Since beginning my training in 2018, I’ve continued to deepen and broaden my professional development alongside my core TA learning. My additional training includes trauma, race and anti-discrimination, gender diversity, mindfulness, and ecological approaches to therapy. I have completed Race, Culture and Anti-Discrimination Training with The Anti-Discrimination Focus, and Working alongside Trans, Gender Diverse and Questioning People with Gendered Intelligence, which both form a central aspect of my anti-oppressive work with diverse clients.
More recently, I’ve explored ecological and co-creative perspectives through courses such as my ecological practitioner certificate, group facilitation training and exploration of Critical Psychotherapy. I am committed to relational, inclusive, and environmentally conscious work.
