About the Therapist
Are you feeling lost, stuck or overwhelmed? Or perhaps you are comparing yourself to those around you, and you are left feeling out of place, left behind or lacking in confidence? I am here to offer my clients the opportunity to explore their authentic self with non-judgemental, caring, support.
You may find yourself at a crossroads, unsure which direction to go, leaving you feeling uncertain, overwhelmed or confused. Or perhaps you know exactly where you want to go, but can't figure out how to get past the things that are holding you back.
I work with you to help you feel more in control of the things that may currently feel out of control. Helping you build your understanding of self, explore alternatives, giving you more choice and more flexibility in coping with what life throws at you and ultimately enabling you to feel confident in who you are and the choices you make. Change can be scary and overwhelming. I'm here to support you with that exploration and self-discovery.
I work relationally, which means working collaboratively and honestly, enabling you to make the necessary shifts and together building an awareness of yourself that allows more flexibility with whatever life throws at you.

I am an integrative counsellor, meaning I use different models and tools to adjust my practice to work with you and your goal for therapy. Similarly, I work in a relational way, meaning I am accountable for the role I take as your counsellor. I am non-defensive and open to exploring what may arise in the counselling room.
The models of therapy I use and their benefits are:
- Gestalt Therapy - This focusses on what you're experiencing in the moment, here and now and day to day. What is it that's troubling you today? What are you missing? We will explore how you feel in the moment, including bringing more awareness to your somatic/bodily sensations and linking this with your thoughts. It's a chance to be curious about how your context and history arises day to day, giving you back control over the elements that can often feel so out of control.
- Psychodynamic - We may then try to link your current experiences to your past and look at any patterns and coping strategies that may have been formed that are no longer serving you. This exploration can help you to understand yourself better, with the aim to be kinder to yourself and then also explore the different options and perspectives you may not have even realised are available.
- CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can provide a relevant, useful toolkit you can begin to implement straight away to help you make lasting change. For example, if you find yourself analysing your behaviour after every social interaction, looking for what you did wrong, let's shift this slightly to what you did right - these small adjustments can have a huge impact on your self worth, confidence and ability to cope. I also utilise ACT tools, to unpack the values that you are trying to abide by consciously or unconsciously, and see if we can pin down the ones that really mean something to you.
