Carolyn Lee
About the Therapist
My name is Carolyn Lee, but I usually go by Caro. I work out of Buxton, in the heart of the Peak District, although I grew up in the north-west of England, close to Lancaster. I've lived, studied and worked all over the world.Â
I've worked in diversity and inclusion for many years, and currently combine being a therapist with coaching, consultancy and training in EDI and culture for large organisations across the UK, and globally.

My training is person-centred, so what I offer is traditional talking therapy, but I bring in other approaches as they fit the client and their needs. I qualified as a therapist in 2019 and currently work with clients from across the LGBTQ+ communities. My background, prior to training as a therapist, is over 20 years in diversity and inclusion.
I have worked with clients aged from 16 to over 80; male, female and non-binary; straight, gay, bi, asexual and poly; from many ethnicities, cultures and religions; and with a range of visible and invisible disabilities.
I usually work on weekly or fortnightly appointments, but am happy to consider other options. There is no time limit to how many sessions you can have, nor any sense that you are committing to months of therapy. We can start working together, and when you feel ready to stop, or to take a break for a while, that’s what we will do.
I work from my home, in a rural setting near Buxton, in Derbyshire. I work primarily by video (using Zoom and WhatsApp primarily), and I also see clients face to face and by phone. If you would like to work with me, we can usually meet or talk within a few days to answer any questions you might have. My working day starts at 8am, and my last appointment slot starts at 5.15pm.
