I first became interested in becoming a counsellor when a trans friend was discussing their frustrations around not being able to find a counsellor that understands them. Despite being CIS, I knew that could offer a safe, affirming space, where people could explore who they are without judgement. Several years later I am registered with the BACP as a person centred counsellor and hopefully, am now that counsellor for some people.
