I’m a psychotherapist and counsellor with a particular interest in working with Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversities (GSRD) clients, offering face to face sessions in Islington London and online therapy worldwide. Finding the right therapist can be a confusing and frustrating experience and may take some time to find the right ‘fit’, particularly for LGBTQI+ individuals who might have had disappointing or even harmful prior experiences of therapy. I suggest that you aim to meet with several therapists before you make a decision.

My approach is pluralistic and my work is LGBTQIA+, sex work, consensual non-monogamy, and kink affirming. My personal approach is integrative, which means that I draw from a number of counselling models and techniques, including psychodynamic, existential and humanistic. My therapeutic stance is adaptable to your individual needs and I offer both short and longer term work. I am an experienced and qualified BACP registered counsellor and psychotherapist. I am working in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework. I have a Psychology (BA) degree and have undertaken comprehensive training and gained my diploma (PgDip) and Masters (MA) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Regent’s University London.

I am a person-centred therapist based in North London on Upper Street, Islington.  I am a softly-spoken Scottish white non-disabled trans woman and my positive and inclusive practice, Gentle Therapy, specifically orients to the Gender, Sex/Sexuality, Relationship Diversity (GSRD) communities.  My therapy is about relating with you acceptingly and warmly, seeing and hearing you, and understanding your difficulties and experiences, which we can explore gently and safely and non-judgementally, in the direction and at the tempo that you choose.

My approach is collaborative. I work relationally with clients towards creating long lasting changes and provide a space for the client to explore personal and relational concerns in a secure and non-judgemental environment.  Together, we will investigate current challenges or deep-seated issues which may present as a difficulty in identifying and expressing emotions, feelings of being estranged from needs, or a sense of being stuck. We will work towards new experiences in behaviour, thoughts and emotions.
