At Serene Self Psychology, we believe that every individual has the potential to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life. Everything that you have learned to do in your life so far to alleviate distress is what you needed to do to survive. Sometimes these strategies might have been maladaptive / unhelpful and can become more unhelpful over time. We can learn more helpful (adaptive) ways of coping. My name is Emily (she/they), I provide counselling / psychotherapy sessions and Clinical Supervision that are underpinned by a humanistic/integrative philosophy and have 24 years of experience of Psychotherapy.   I am a fully accredited member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and a graduate member of the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute, Nottingham. I therefore adhere to each body’s respective codes of ethics and my work is appropriately supervised in line with these codes.   My approach is trauma-informed, disability affirmative, neurodiversity affirmative and LGBTQIA+ affirmative.
