Dr Charlotte Haylock
About the Therapist
I work affirmatively with LGBTQIA+ people, even if this is not what you wish to discuss in therapy but would like a safe practitioner with whom to discuss other areas of your life. I have expertise in working with gender identity, sexual orientation and non monogamies. I have awareness and experience of working with neurodiversity, including autism and ADHD, and will work with you to co-create a safe space, discussing any reasonable adjustments that you may need in order for therapy to be safe and accessible. I am mindful to explore and understand the ways in which a person's culture, ethnicity, religion, race, ability, socioeconomic status and relationship status might play a role in their psychological well being, especially when they have faced prejudice, stigma and/or discrimination. I work collaboratively with clients to help them to understand themselves on a deeper level to activate change and facilitate growth. I specialise in gender, sexuality and relationship diversity, anxiety, depression, shame, low self-esteem, trauma/PTSD, panic attacks, OCD and relationship difficulties. My goal is to help people develop self-knowledge and resilience through renewed methods of coping and living a meaningful life.

I have a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from London Metropolitan University. I am a counselling psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)*. and chartered by the British Psychological Society. I have further specialist training and experience of working therapeutically with gender identity and diversity, and worked for 3+ years in a gender identity clinic, meaning that I am familiar with specialist treatment pathways for people who are looking to transition medically. *'Counselling psychologist' is a protected title meaning that you can only legally use it if you have met specific requirements to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
