Chloe Foster - Email Counselling
About the Therapist
Do you want counselling that offers you the option to hide your face and voice, more privacy, the flexibility to have sessions at a time that works for you.
I'm Chloe and I am trained and experienced in email counselling.
I am also a Pink Therapy Accredited Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversities Therapist. Â I have over 12 years experience supporting LGBTQ+ people as a youth worker and in mental health support roles. This includes over 9 years working as a counsellor. Read more about me here.
Are you trans (or think you might be)? Have you heard of email counselling? Traditional in-person or video counselling can feel challenging for many trans clients who are exploring their gender expression as they may worry how their gender might be perceived by their counsellor. Many trans clients also have voice dysphoria so hearing their voice on video calls can feel distressing.
Why choose me for online counselling? Â
When the pandemic hit the world in 2020, counsellors were thrown online with no online experience or training. They had to learn 'on the job'. As a result most counsellors don't have any additional training in online counselling and very few have any training or experience in email counselling. I however, studied an advanced specialist online training in 2018 a few years after qualifying as a counsellor in 2016.
My online training covered not just video calls, but also phone and email counselling. This range of experience enables me to give you a dedicated online service where we can meet in the way that works for you.

TESTIMONIALS
"Chloe is a terrific listener and helped guide me towards constructive reflection and my ability to resolve my own issues. We worked by analysing the conflicts, then looked at what I needed to prioritise personally."
"It was great – absolutely right style. Subtle pointers so I could leave each sessions with some insight into what to reflect on"
"I highly recommend Chloe's ability – Chloe established a sense of trust and safety which was precisely what I needed and I did not at any time feel negative after each session. I feel as a result very much improved in my mental state (after only approximately 10 sessions or so)."
"I identify as trans/questioning/gender queer. After many years of confusion and denial about who I was I had only recently started being honest with myself about my situation and also had only just started coming out to family and friends at the beginning of this year. At the start of my sessions I was still unsure about where I fitted in as a person. Sessions with Chloe helped give me the space and time to focus more clearly on my situation and issues I needed to address. Through Chloe’s support I was often able to find answers myself that not only have helped me as a person who identifies as trans, but also life in general. I have taken so many positive steps over the past 6 months that I thought I would never take, and I know sessions with Chloe played a key part in taking those steps."
"I just wanted to say thank you again for your help/support as a counsellor over the past 6 months. It really has helped me move on a lot quicker that I thought was possible."
I'm passionate about helping LGBTQ+ people - like you - have affirmative counselling which is why I founded Sussex Rainbow Counselling. Â I specialise in working with gender, sexual and relationship diversity and so have significant experience working with clients who are LGBTQ+.
Have you tried counselling before? Perhaps you felt unable to talk about your gender identity or sexuality. Maybe you didn't want to risk being misgendered, misunderstood and having to educate your counsellor.Â
I really understand that being LGBTQ+ can sometimes make it difficult to find a counsellor you can trust and feel safe to open up to.
